- Hackers (or bad guys) try to compromise/attack computer systems, While ethical hackers (or good guys) protect computer systems against cyber attacks.The term Ethical hacking also known as white-hat hacking, includes some tools, tricks, and techniques that hackers can use, but it has one major difference: Ethical hacking is legal. Ethical hacking is performed with the target’s (clients’) permission.
- The purpose of ethical hacking is to find out vulnerabilities in a system from a hacker’s viewpoint, so that systems can be secured. It also ensures that vendors’ claims about the security of their products are legitimate.
- An ethical hacker possesses/commands/obtains/belongs to the skills, mindset, and tools of a hacker but is also trustworthy. Ethical hackers perform the hacking as security tests for their systems against cyber attacks.
- Today information Technology involves more than just computer literacy.The rapid and dramatic advances in information technology (IT) in recent years have generated tremendous benefits.
